About Biochemtools

Biochemtools is a free set of interactive calculators and explainers for biochemistry, genetics, and chemistry — built with pre-med and MCAT students in mind.

Most study sites give you a static cheat sheet or a black-box calculator: type numbers in, get an answer out, learn nothing about how it got there. Biochemtools does the opposite. Every tool shows the actual method as you change the inputs — the formula, the intermediate steps, the reasoning — so it sticks well enough to reproduce on an exam with no calculator in sight.

Who makes this

Biochemtools is built and maintained independently, not by a textbook publisher or a test-prep company. The goal is simple: tools good enough that a student finds one, actually understands the method, and shares it with their study group.

No signup, no paywall on the core tools

Every calculator on the site is free to use with no account required. The site may run ads or offer an optional premium tier in the future to keep it funded — the core "shows the work" tools stay free either way.
